one american was killed more than one dozen others were rescued. the coast guard said that it has already surged 1400 square miles of ocean and land. teresa estacio is live in san ramon, that is where survivors of the fishing trip are speaking out tonight how is the mood there? >> behind me is the home of donnelly, you can take a look for yourself all of these cars, they belong to the extended family of donald lee, he is one of the fishermen from the bay area who went down to mexico for the fishing trip. it was just last sunday when the boat that he was on capsized forcing everyone to fight for their lives, lee still missing but earlier today i spoke with pete zooker from navato, and he told me he held onto an ice cooler until he saw a small boat and was able to clean up for life on. >> i was looking around and i saw this tonga, is a

fishing boat, you probably know that so i saw it and then i saw one person and they said to me pete is that you, and it was my closest friend in life, it was joe so we were happy together but 20 minutes half an hour later after the storm it was very calm and beautiful. about six, 6:30 a.m. it was a little like i said i want to see what is in my ice chest i picked up. there were two like to invest in there and a bottle of water. wow later on we sought a life raft with about 10, or 11 people. we came together so they all came into our tonga we had the ice chest, we took the cover and started paddling with the ice chest. it was

missing family member donald lee reporting live in san ramon i and teresa estacio. >> one of the other man said he had been in a bed waters before and when he went to his cabin at night the seas were very rough. >> i was probably in bed for one hour or two hours when nearly started to get rough. it was hammering it really good. apparently talking to some of the guys that were sitting outside we were taking water over the top of the boat. the back in was under water when i came out of my door and i saw the captain standing there and we were about a 25 degree list to port at that time in as the capt. have you put out any call to the coast guard to get us here? as he did i say anything to me he just stared at me. i walked outside did not have anything on but my underwear and of myself flotation device that we all

brought with us. we went on to the deck, i saw the water was coming on fast i into the cooler that was sitting there next to me and i jumped over the side of the boat with the cooler and swam away from the boat and as i swam away, i noticed on the awning, there was, the one we were sitting under on the third step up was now leaning almost into the water and in fact it hit my cooler as i was trying to get out from underneath it. san and then i saw the vote stand up, and then in about 15, less than that, maybe five seconds existed there all by itself and then it just slipped under the water just like the titanic. >> the search continues for the other bay area man who are still missing in the sea of cortez. on kron4 news at 6:00 p.m. you can hear gary hansen describes his 15 hours in the water and what he said when his rescuers offer to taken to the hospital. a striking scene

today at a south bay medical center after a plane crashed into the building there. the crash happened last night at the watsonville community hospital campus, 4 people aboard the plane were killed. there were all members of the same family. this is a photograph of that family, david, his wife dd and their two young sons, luke and ryan. we are standing by live near the crash site we have the latest on the tragic. >> this is a horrible tragedy in watsonville, initially we were told that there were two people on board to adults, and then we learn that there were 4 people, to adults and two children and they all perished. i can show you this is where the plane crashed, they are boarding up windows and doors here at the women's clinic, this is in an ex to the hospital. inspectors have been out here all day picking apart the plane. they have moved it over there on to the flatbed trailer that you see

around and drove in here, and i saw the airplane burn inside of the building for quite awhile. i did not even know what to think. i never expected to see that happen. i live near the airport and i always thought that this could happen one day but i never thought that it would be yesterday. i was thinking they are in their burning in there is nothing i can do. all i can do is watch everyone was calling the ambulance and stuff, so when they showed up they were pretty much, they had been burning for a while so that is really sad. >> he and his friends and say that they were thinking of trying to make a rescue attempt but the flames from the fire were too intense. new details tonight about the theft of the rear picasso self from the san for cisco our gallery this is the man that is accused of stealing that our work market lugo--mark lugo this

and >> a rangers fan who use these right there falls to his death after trying to catch a ball that a player tossed into the stands. take a look, after a foul ball in the second inning, the rangers left fielder tossed the ball into the stand above the wall. you can see the can reach over, kept the ball but then fall headfirst want it is about a 20 ft. drop right down there and where he is headed, there is a small section between the left-field wall and the left field railing that you see there. the man that fail, shannon stone was a 39 year-old firefighter. you can see his six year-old son was right there, there is his son, unfortunately watching it all in this may be the worst part of this whole thing he did not die instantly. he was taken to

hospital and with his son writing in the front of the ambulance went into full cardiac arrest and died by the time the ambulance got to the hospital players and fans who witnessed this say that the whole thing is real. >> just as the ball hit his hand, it kind of threw him off balance and he went headfirst. it was, it looked awful because you knew that there was no way that he would land on his feet. he disappeared so you could not see anything but the way that he felt like he failed raid on his head. >> you could hear him saying someone please get my son, someone check on my son he is up there all by himself. the paramedics were right there in a says sir, we will be your son, your son will be ok do not worry about your son, you can be around as the one minute disguising join himself a ball game and a half an hour later he is dead, it is very surreal. >> unfortunately this is

belfour violent incidents at last night in east oakland left six people shot police are investigating try to see if there's a connection between the crimes. the first was at 8:29 p.m. last night near 89th avenue right there. just one hour later at 9:30 p.m. a second shooting this one near 108 avenue and foothill boulevard. from there just 50 minutes after that and 1 mi. northwest right here. it was a 2200 block of ninth--

98 avenue of the st. a man with his to with it there. and then just 2 mi. north, a shooting and another one, kron4 hazzig manyud this is why oakland police believe their new reorganization plan will help to reduce violent crimes like these in oakland. >> stage one oakland police department reorganization plan goes into effect over the weekend. officials say that the new department structure will help to maintain the current patrol staffing level at around 270 officer. >> and other states will be implemented sometime in august. >> the opd sgt says that the criminal investigation division and the focus of stage two of the reorganization that is designed to address the most crime impacted areas of the city including parts of east oakland were recently six people were shot and one person was pistol whipped in about an hour-and-a-half.

hired firefighters must work until age 55 to receive their benefits. the city of oakland is placing an estimated $58 million shortfall. in san jose the police arrested two juvenile think connection with a double spatting that happened late last night at a santa clara valley light rail station near first and mission streets. two victims were stabbed by a pair of 16 year-old males. the suspect fled, later tried down by officers in the stabbing victims are expected to survive. in napa county police arrested a man connection with a marijuana growing operation to people were found murdered. police say they found and got rid of 2000 marijuana plants and it was located on private property and concealed by vegetation they said the owner of the land had no knowledge of the crimes. g uerrero has not been charged

beautiful so we were bailing like crazy out there, about six, 6:30 a.m. it was a little bit of like i said i wanted to see what was in my eyes chess that i picked up. to life vest were in their and a bottle of water. wow. later on we sought a life raft coming with about 10, 211 people. we came together, so they all came into our boat. we had a lot of ice chest, we ripped apart, we took the cooler and started paddling four on each side. it was high tide so it went in and that was good and then a few hours later we went out again, so more or less we just stayed in one spot and turned around. but two things were going through my mind i am totally happy that i am alive to obviously i'm at home, but i am sad that all seven people are still missing. >> i ask him what motivated
